Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a lead-acid storage battery comprising a lid and a battery jar adhered thereto by means of adhesive agent, in which the adhesion strength between the lid and the jar is improved to make the airtightness of the battery, thereby enabling preventing air from entry from outside the battery.
CONSTITUTION: In a lead-acid storage battery comprising an adhesive-agent filling groove portion 2 provided in the back face of a lid 1, the lid and a battery jar being adhered together by an adhesive agent in that adhesive-agent filling groove portion, adhesive-accent reservoirs 5 are partially continuously provided in an adhesive-agent filling groove portion 2. This reservoir 5 is provided with a small projection 6 which constitutes an interfitting guide between the jar and the lid 1. This constitution enables lessening the unevenness of the adhesive-agent quantity attributable to recesses in the surface of the adhesive agent filled in the reservoir and preventing decrease in the adhesion strength between the lid and the jar. This constitution also improves the airtightness of the battery.
