Abstract:
PURPOSE: To measure lead wire positions of many different kinds of parts with high accuracy by providing a means for calculating the average position of the lead wire based on the information of the beam interceptions when the lead is transversely moved at an angle to the first path and the second path. CONSTITUTION: The position of a lead wire is measured by beams 2, 3 and 4. The speed of a gripper 9 which holds a part 11 is measured while beams 1 and 5 move in a feed region 13. A beam 6 determines whether or not the lead wire of the part 11 is too long. In this case, as a rule, the interception of the two beams 2 and 4 angled to each other are sufficient to determine the position of the lead wire, but the average position of the lead wire is determined by using the information on the interception of the third beam 3, and the standard deviation of the average value is calculated as a measure of the accuracy of the lead wire position measurement. Thus, the positions of the lead wires of many different kinds of parts are measured with high accuracy.
