PURPOSE: To perform correction of learning so that measurements are adjusted to a value approximately further similar to a target value regardless of a kind of a shift by a method wherein a correction amount limit value setting means to set the upper and lower limit values of a correction amount classified by a kind of a shift by a learning object parameter correcting means is arranged at the learning object parameter correcting means.
CONSTITUTION: A learning control device for an automatic transmission comprises a kind of shift deciding means (a) to discriminate a kind of a shift; a physical amount measuring means (b) to measure a physical amount indicating the shift state of an automatic transmission; and a learning object parameter memory means (c) to store a value of a parameter related to a shift classified by a kind of a shift. A value of a stored parameter is corrected classified by a kind of a shift by a correction means (d) so that the measurements of a physical amount are adjusted to a value approximately similar to a target value. By means of a value of a parameter after correction, a shift is controlled by a shaft control means (e). In this case, the correction means (d) is provided with a correction amount limit value setting means (f), the upper and lower limit values of a correction amount by the correction means (d) are set classified by a kind of a shift and proper learning correction is practicable regardless of a kind of a shift.
