Abstract:

To provide an LED module that includes a reflecting mirror, having a characteristic shape and structure which are suitable for lowering the divergent angle, improving the light utilizing efficiency and luminance, and reducing the size of the module.

This LED module 1 has a shell which includes a curved reflecting mirror and an LED light-emitting element 4, arranged in front of the mirror, and the shell is constituted to meet D≤L≤2D (where L and D respectively denote the dimension of the shell in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis and the diameter of the aperture of the reflecting mirror). In addition, the distance between the aperture plane and the front end of the module 1 along the optical axis is made longer than the length of the lens section of the module 1 along the optical axis. The length of the reflecting mirror along the optical axis is adjusted to are half or more of the length of the mirror in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis. Moreover, the difference between the rear end sections of the module 1 and reflecting mirror on the optical axis is adjusted to ≥0. The lens section, reflecting mirror, and light-emitting mirror respectively have the shape of a curved surface, the shape of a convex surface and a rectangular cross section, and a circular shape. This module 1 also has one or more lenses in front of the module 1, in the direction of the optical axis.
