To finish a lens to a center wall dimension with a desired accuracy.
A thermally melting joining agent having a viscoelastic property and a flow property, increased when heated is used as a joining agent. A joined pan 3 and the joining agent are heated to a temperature at which the thermally melting joining agent indicates the flow property. The lens surface of the lens 2 is coated with the heated thermally melting joining agent. The lens 2 coated with the thermally melting joining agent is temporarily joined to the joining surface of the joined pan 3, and the lens 2 temporarily joined to the joined pan 3 is held rotatably about the rear surface side center part of the lens surface and movably in the radial direction of the lens and pressed toward the joined pan 3 side. The lens surface of the lens 2 is positioned along the joining surface of the lens surface to position the lens 2 along the joined surface 3, and the joined pan 3 is cooled to solidify the thermally melting joining agent. Since the thermally melting joining agent is finished to have a uniform film thickness dimension, the accuracy of the center wall dimension of the lens 2 is improved.
