Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a levyne type zeolite excellent in adsorption and catalysis action and with improved acid characteristics, having specified composition, X-ray diffraction diagram and fluorine content.

CONSTITUTION: This levyne type zeolite is indicated by an approximate expression M2/nO.Al2O3.xSiO2 [M is a proton and/or a metallic cation, (n) is the valence of M and (x) is 5-200], having a the specified X-ray diffraction diagram (omitted) and the fluorine content of about 0.005-2.0 wt.%, synthesized in a fluoride medium and synthesized by the below-mentioned method. (a) The reaction mixture in a solution shape of pH less than about 9 containing a structuring agent source selected from at least one dynamic source containing water, Si sources, Al sources and fluoride ions, quinuclidine and its mixture with methylamine (by a molar ratio, Si/Al=2-100, F-/Si=0.1-8, H2O/Si=4-30, (R+R')/Si=0.4-4, R/R'=0.1-infinite, and R and R' respectively indicate the quinuclidine and the methylamine) is formed. (b) The reaction mixture is maintained at the heating temperature of 50-250°C until a crystalline compound is obtained. (c) The compound is fired at a temperature above 350°C.
