Abstract:

To obtain a new ligand useful as an asymmetric catalyst for carrying out carbon-carbon bond reaction in high enantio-selectivity in a high yield.

The ligand is represented by general formula (Ra, Rb, Rc and Rd are each a substituted group, preferably Ra and Rb are each hydrogen or a phenyl group and Rc and Rd are each a group selected from a methyl group, an isopropyl group, a t-butyl group and a phenyl group). The ligand forms a complex with a metal to give an asymmetric catalyst. The metal to form the complex is preferably selected from Cr, Zn, Ti, Mn, Pd and Rh.
