Title:
LIGHT EMITTING DIODE ARRAY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0194680
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a thin, wholly miniaturized LED array whose dimension relative to the light irradiation direction is short by monolithically forming a convex lens, whose section is convex and which extends along its length, with a resin mold on a long size printed board in which a plurality of flatly formed LED chips are soldered in row at a predetermined interval, or like means. CONSTITUTION:By forming a convex lens 13, whose section is convex and which extends along its length, with a resin mold on a long size printed board 11 in which a plurality of flatly formed LED chips 12 are soldered in row at a predetermined interval, lights emitted from individual LED chips 12 are made by the lens 13 so that they have uniform certain luminosity at a predetermined distance. For example, said individual LED chips 12 are first soldered at predetermined positions on the printed board 11 in lead-frame form, then by resin molding the light emitting parts of such lead frame flatly, individual single type LED chips are formed. They are driven and controlled when powered from a connector 11b through printed patterns and a connecting cord 11a.
