Title:
LIGHT EMITTING DIODE FOR OPTICAL PRINTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04211182
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To increase the degree of freedom in wiring of the title diode at each row of arranged light emitting areas by constituting the title diode of a plurality of light emitting elements arranged on the surface and a plurality of individual electrodes electrically connected to the light emitting areas of a different row. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor substrate 1 is composed of rod-like high- resistance N-type silicon and forms a rail-like recessed section 101. On the surfaces of light emitting elements 2 placed on and fixed to the substrate 1 light emitting areas 201 formed by a selective diffusing method are respectively provided and firmly stuck to the bottom surface of the recessing section with a fixing agent 3 after the areas 201 are grouped so that four areas can correspond to one dot. Electrode films 5 and 6 are ohmic-contacted with the elements 2 and the films 6 constitute terminal sections 62, with the other films 7 forming common wiring electrodes. Therefore, the degree of freedom in wiring of this light emitting diode can be increased and the power consumption of the diode can be reduced.
