Abstract:
To obtain a light emitting element drive circuit capable of suppressing an increase in loss of circuit even in applications where current is turned on/off frequently.SOLUTION: A light emitting element drive circuit 100A includes a main voltage source 4, a boost voltage source 7, diodes 3A, 5, a linear regulator 6 and a MOSFET 2. The main voltage source 4 holds a first voltage and is connected such that the first voltage can be applied to the anode of an LD 1. The boost voltage source 7 is connected such that a second voltage higher than the first voltage can be applied to the anode of the LD 1. The diode 3A is connected in a direction where the application of the second voltage to the main voltage source 4 is prevented. The linear regulator 6 forms a series circuit with the main voltage source 4, the diode 3A and the LD 1, and controls current flowing through the LD 1. The MOSFET 2 switches on/off the application of the second voltage with respect to the anode of the LD 1. The diode 5 is connected in a direction where energy stored when current flows through the LD 1 is regenerated to the boost voltage source 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
