Abstract:
To provide a light source device with which it is possible to change a polarization state.SOLUTION: A light source device (100) comprises: a laser light source (10) for emitting a laser light L having a peak wavelength included in the wavelength region of light absorbed or reflected by some of regions (52B) of a subject (500) and linearly polarized; a polarization control element (12) for passing the laser light emitted from the laser light source through and changing the polarization state of the laser light; and a birefringence optical fiber (13) the cross section of which, that is orthogonal to the long axis direction in which light is propagated, includes a fast axis orthogonal to the long axis direction and a slow axis orthogonal to both the long axis and the fast axis directions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
