Abstract:
PURPOSE:To uniformize the luminance distribution by forming the section orthogonal to two wide faces into a wedge shape and forming the section of one face into a surface of the second or higher order and forming the incidence face into an approximately cylindrical concave. CONSTITUTION:A light transmission body consists of a thin and wedge-shaped transparent body formed with planes P2-P4 and P6 and curved faces P1 and P5. The curved face P1 and the plane P2 have maximum areas and their edges on one side are close to each other more than edges on the other side, and the plane P2 is used as the light exit surface, and the curved face P1 is used as the reflection surface. Planes P3 and P4 correspond to both side faces of two faces P1 and P2 and are approximately triangular and are approximately parallel with each other and are used as side faces of the light transmission body for light diffusion, and the curved face P5 is formed into an approximately cylindrical concave corresponding to end faces on one side of two faces P1 and P2, and this light transmission body consists of a material whose refractive index (n) is in the range of 1.4<=n<=1.6. Thus, the luminance distribution is uniformized.
