Abstract:
PURPOSE: To avoid such an inconvenience that a lamp fitting detecting means incorrectly operates that a lamp is fit, and releases latch of a latching means when the last stage of the life is detected with a life last stage detecting means.
CONSTITUTION: After a life last stage detecting means 18 detects the last stage of the life of a discharge lamp 13, detecting operation of a lamp fitting detecting means 20 on an uncommon side is controlled in a non-operation state with a lamp fitting detecting operation regulating means 23. Unlatching operation of a latching means 19 caused by the malfunction concerning lamp replacement of the lamp fitting detecting means 20 is prevented.
