PURPOSE: To improve lighting efficiency of a dial while its illumination can be obtained in almost uniform brightness.

CONSTITUTION: In an instrument for driving a pointer 2, provided in the surface side of a dial 1, by an internal machine 3 provided in the reverse side of the dial 1, the dial 1 and the pointer 2 are illuminated by a light source (electric bulb) 7 arranged in the reverse side of the dial 1, and in a lighting structure of this instrument, an internal machine controlling wiring board 14 is provided in the outside in the back side of a meter case 10 for storing the internal machine 3, and also providing the light source 7 in the inside in the back side of this meter case 10 and further in a position corresponding to a facing 8 for covering a peripheral part of the dial 1. Further, this lighting structure is provided with a reflecting wall 12 for reflecting light of the light source 7 to sides of the dial 1 and the pointer 2, in a position in a side of the dial 1 from the wiring board 4.
