To provide a lighting system which can suppress illumination efficiency degradation of illumination light from a light source to an illuminated member.
The lighting system includes a light source unit 23 having the light source 22 arranged on a substrate 21, a liquid crystal display panel (the illuminated member) 24 arranged on a front side of the light source unit 23 and illuminated by illumination light from the light source 22, and a case body 27 arranged between the substrate 21 and the liquid crystal display panel 24. The case body 27 includes a cavity part 50 arranged facing the light source 22, and a body part 60 surrounding the cavity part 50. An inner wall part of the body part 60 as a boundary part of the cavity part 50 and the body part 60 is made in a mirror surface state.
