PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a limit switch which can improve operational capability by maintaining a free state merely by carrying out transfer operation of a reset lever in only one direction.
SOLUTION: The limit switch 10 is equipped with two or more digit wheels, two or more pinions for carry, a reset arm 33 which resets each of the digit wheels to an original position while separating the pinions from the digit-wheel side during a turning movement around a pivot axis, and a spring which turnably biases the reset arm in the direction which brings each pinion near by the digit-wheel side. A groove which is prolonged in the direction of the pivot is formed on the reset arm. A reset lever 40 which has a cam section 40b which contacts on the inside of the groove is supported turnably around the pivot 40a of the direction which intersects perpendicularly with the pivot of the reset arm. When the reset lever turns and moves around the pivot, while the cam section slides in the groove in the direction of the groove, the reset arm is to be turned to the maximum limit so as to resist to the spring force, and the pivot is positioned on the line of action of the spring force which the cam section receives through the reset arm when the reset arm is left in a free state.
