PURPOSE: To ensure a highly flexible system operation by performing maintenance of the menu display information different for each terminal in a working mode of an on-line system and also via correction of an existing application program, etc.

CONSTITUTION: A rough menu is displayed at each terminal according to a menu display information table 1 when these terminals are connected to an on-line system. Then each terminal has a request for display of the next desired work menu and a check part 4 checks whether the required work menu is permitted by the relevant terminal or not. If the work menu is permitted, an output indication common processing part 5 separates an initial connection work 9 from a terminal for connection with the requested work. When this connection is through, the work menu is displayed at a menu display part 6 based on the table 1.
