Abstract:
PURPOSE:To increase the visibility of a windshield by making a wiper arm expandable and retractable by the action of a pump while varying the angle of a wiper blade by means of a motor. CONSTITUTION:A wiper blade motor 2 is fixed to the lower part of a wiper blade holding part 1 and a worm 3 is formed on the shaft of the holding part 1. The end of a wiper arm 9 is fixed, only vertically movably, to a worm wheel shaft 18, and the length of the wiper arm 9 can be increased and reduced by the action of a pump 12. Accordingly, by controlling the angle and length of the wiper arm 9 and the angle of the wiper blade part A by means of a control unit 13, a linear-motion wiper can be obtained. When the wiper is not in use, the wiper arm 9 can be rotated counterlockwise while being contracted, and moved onto the bottom edge of a windshield 20, increasing visibility.
