PURPOSE: To ensure refilling performance of a paper feeding cassette by such a mechanism that a recess in the set cam is in engagement with a pin for detention during refilling of sheets of paper and, in stand-by position, the cam can be locked.
CONSTITUTION: In a paper feeding cassette, turning the cassette setting shaft 13 clockwise allows a release lever 19 fixed to the shaft 13 to rotate for a play existing between the hole c and the boss b on the set cam 14. When the boss b comes in contact with the hole c, the set cam 14 turns in the same direction, and a link rod 25 is moved rightward by a pin 24 and the right end is pushed away while sliding on a slide shaft 23. Consequently, a lock lever 27 moves rightward with the aid of a pin 26, and its left end is guided along a cam groove 31 through a pin 28. When the shaft 13 has reached the limit point for movement of the cam 14, the pin 28 drops into a dentention groove d of the cam groove 31 and, thus, the cam 14 is locked.
