The liquid application apparatus possesses: a coating housing 4 for defining a coating space 2; an outer housing 22 for defining an outer space 30 to cover the coating housing 4; a liquid spray means 40, 42 for spraying a coating liquid to the coating space 2; a liquid supply means for supplying the coating liquid to the liquid spray means 40, 42; and a sucking and recovering means 72 for sucking the mist-like liquid leaked to the outer space 30 from the coating space 2 and recovering the liquid. The material 35 to be coated is moved through an outer feed port 32 and an outer discharge port 34 of the outer housing 22 and a feed port 18 and a discharge port 20 of the coating housing 4, and the mist-like liquid is stuck and applied on the surface during the movement through the coating space 2.
