Abstract:
To provide a liquid-cooled type electric power converting device for a railroad car capable of cooling properly the power supply for driving the car and an auxiliary power supply and assuring calmness when the car is stopped. The liquid-cooled type electric power converting device for the railroad car is equipped with the power supply for driving the railroad car, the auxiliary power supply, a pump connected with the power supply for driving the car and the auxiliary power supply through piping for sending the cooling liquid to the power supply for driving the car and the auxiliary power supply, a heat exchanger connected with the power supply for driving the car and the auxiliary power supply through piping for performing the heat exchange of the cooling liquid discharged from the power supply for driving the car and the auxiliary power supply, a first blower for sending the wind to the heat exchanger, and a second blower having a smaller wind sending ability than the first blower and nevertheless able to send the wind to the heat exchanger, wherein the first blower is stopped when the railroad car is stopped and only the second blower is operated.
