To provide a tab of a lithium ion battery, which is not corroded by a hydrofluoric acid generated by an electrolyte and a moisture content at a position where a tab is bonded to an external body or a bonding film, and to provide a forming method of a surface layer of a corrosion-resistant tab.
A lithium ion battery is made by housing a lithium ion battery body in a packaging material for the lithium ion battery, and heat sealing a rim part including a portion that pinches tabs. In the heat sealing of the rim part of the lithium ion battery, a conversion treatment is performed on, at least, both sides and the side faces of the heat-sealed part. The conversion treatment includes a phosphoric acid chromate treatment. In the conversion treatment method of the lithium ion battery tab, after slittering a metal sheet, which becomes a tab material of the lithium ion battery, to a final width for use to make it the tab material, its both sides and the side faces are degreased, then a solvent composed of a phosphate, a chromate, a fluoride, and a triazine- thiol compound is coated on the surface of the tab material and dried and heated to form a conversion treatment layer.
