PURPOSE: To improve the linearity between the load and the output voltage by a method wherein the line of action of the load applied to a beam to which a strain gauge is stuck is provided aslant so that it acts on the line perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the beam from the basic side part.
CONSTITUTION: A load transmitting rod 25 is provided aslant at the angle of α to a line (v) perpendicular to a beam 12. When the load W acts upon a movable piece part 2, the beam 12 is transformed and the load W1 in the vertical direction turns to be Wcosα, while in the horizontal direction a component force W2=Wsinα is generated. Since strain gauges 18, 19 and 21 are not influenced so much by the moment, they are little influenced by the component force W2, while a strain gauge 20 being much influenced by the moment. However, when the tilt angle α is made to be 6°, the best linearity between the load W and the output voltage is attained. By tilting the load transmitting rod 25 in this way, the linearity between the load and the output voltage is improved.
