A load cell 3 has uniaxial type strain gages 4 attached to the center in a longitudinal direction of an upper and a lower faces of a long body. A reference line of the strain gages 4 agrees with the longitudinal direction of the load cell 3. When a distributed load by an object to be measured acts to a top plate 1, the load is transmitted from two load points 2 to the load cell 3. The load points 2 are constituted of an elastic body. The load cell 3 and top plate 1 are freely supported via the elastic bodies. A size of a moment acting to the load cell 3 becomes a constant value determined by a load irrespective of a contact area of a load face where the object is placed. A stable load output can be obtained by placing the object so that the center of gravity is positioned to the center of the top plate 1.
