To provide a locking mechanism for a storage apparatus, which facilitates closing operation of the storage apparatus when closing the storage apparatus.

The locking mechanism 23 for the storage apparatus is configured such that a position at which a lock body 20 can be engaged with an engaging part 18 or a position at which the lock body can not be engaged can be selected beforehand in an open state of the storage apparatus 10, and is provided with swing means 23 capable of swinging the lock body 20 between an engaging position at which the lock body 20 is engaged with the engaging part 18 and a withdrawing position at which the lock body 20 is withdrawn from the engaging part 18 when being at the position at which the lock body 20 can be engaged.
