Abstract:
To secure safety when a device is used by assuring the engagement of an optional device in an image forming apparatus and an image forming apparatus main body without imparting an apparent restriction for the image forming apparatus in a simple constitution.
In a locking mechanism locking the image forming apparatus main body and the optional device which can be attached to and detached from it with each other, a locking part is provided to one of the optional device or the image forming apparatus main body. A locking member which is to be locked to the locking part is provided to the other device. The locking of the locking part is released by using a coin and a locking release state is retained by using a coin.
