Abstract:
To provide a low photoelastic constant glass, optical fiber and method for producing optical fiber, that has a low photoelastic constant and an excellent anti-crystallization property.SOLUTION: The low photoelastic constant glass contains a component A comprising either bismuth trioxide or antimony trioxide, and a component B comprising either silicon dioxide or boron oxide, and in which the compounding ratio (mole ratio) of the component A and the component B is 40:60 to 60:40. Since the photoelastic constant is low, it is suitable for a material such as an optical fiber used for an optical fiber current sensor or the like.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
