Title:
LOW-POWER BANDGAP REFERENCE VOLTAGE CIRCUIT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3954594
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage circuit which generates a low-power bandgap reference voltage by a method of simultaneously generating and summing a current directly proportional to the absolute temperature and a current directly proportional to a voltage between a base and an emitter by utilizing current mirror circuits and the smaller number of resistances.
SOLUTION: The voltage circuit is provided with; a first current source which provides a current (IPTAT) directly proportional to the absolute temperature and has an input end coupled to a first voltage; a second current source which provides a current (IPTVBE) directly proportional to the voltage between the base and the emitter and has an input end coupled to the first voltage and has an output end coupled to an output end of the current source providing the current directly proportional to the absolute temperature; and a first resistance which has one end coupled to output ends of the first and second current sources and has the other end coupled to a second voltage, and the sum total of currents generated by the first and second current sources is utilized to generate a low-power bandgap reference voltage in the first resistance.
