Title:
LOW-PRESSURE DISCHARGE LAMP AND ITS MANUFACTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06203793
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the low temperature starting capability by constituting an electron emitter by use of barium oxide containing a small quantity of metal barium. CONSTITUTION: A bar-like fluorescent lamp has a cylindrical discharge vessel, for example, having a diameter of 26mm and a length of 0.6m-1.5m. Two double spiral bar-like tungsten electrode wirings 2 are welded to both end parts within the fluorescent lamp. The bar-like electrode windings are arranged orthogonally to the discharge gap. The discharge vessel has a fluorescent lamp cover on the inner wall. The ionizing filler of the fluorescent lamp is formed of a mixture of mercury steam and rare gas mix. The electrode winding has a barium oxide electron emitter, and excessive barium is generated in the forming process of the emitter.
