Title:
LOWER NOZZLE FOR SLIDING NOZZLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH081319
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve durability and to reduce a cost by varying the materials of the peripheral part of a nozzle hole and the outer edge thereof.

CONSTITUTION: This lower nozzle for sliding part is formed by varying the materials of the peripheral part (important part) 1 of the nozzle hole 3 through which the molten steel passes and the outer edge (non-important part) 2 thereof without calcination. Both parts 1, 2 are simultaneously molded at the time of molding without interposing mortar, castables, etc., into the joint part thereof. Alumina carbon, high alumina, magnesia, zirconia and other refractories are selected as the refractory materials for constituting the nozzle and the combinations of these materials are not restricted The nozzle combined with the materials is formed simultaneously by a high-pressure press at the time of molding and is used without subjecting the nozzle to stages such as calcining thereafter. As a result, a contribution is made to the reduction of the initial cost in steel making process.
