Abstract:
PURPOSE: To simplify the lubricating device of an inner shaft stern side shaft seal device (inner shaft rear part seal device) installed at the rear part of a front propeller, as for a counter propeller vessel.
CONSTITUTION: An inner shaft rear part seal device 7 is formed of a casing 7a installed at the rear end surface of a front propeller 5 (installed at the rear end part of an outer shaft 2) and the lip type seals 9-12 which are made of rubber and permit the slide contact between the inside diameter end part installed on the inner periphery of the easing 7a and a liner 8 on the inner shaft 1. Further, an emergency pipe 14 opened between the lip type seals 11 and 12 is laid on the inner surface of the outer shaft 2, and the end part of the pipe 14 is allowed to communicate to the lubricating oil chamber 3a of an outer shaft bearing 3 through a valve 15 and an oil hole 20 which penetrates in the longitudinal direction through a liner 16 forming an outer shaft front part sealing device 10, and the part in the vicinity of the outer shaft front part seal device 19 can be made simple.
