PURPOSE: To provide a drying device consisting of a truck, capable of delivering lumbers into a drying chamber, and a drying chamber.

CONSTITUTION: A lumber drier, in which lumbers 3 piled on a truck 1 are carried into a drying chamber to dry them, is provided with a truck 1, whose frame is formed of upper and lower two stages consisting of an upper frame 10a, formed so as to be elevatable by an actuator 11 connected to a lower frame 10b and provided with a geared motor 13 for carrying it, and a drying chamber, receiving the whole of the truck loaded with lumbers on the base arm 4 projected outwardly from the elevated upper frame in the chamber and having a loading unit 24 for retaining the base arm 4 of the upper frame under a condition that the lumbers are loaded as they are on the way of descending of the upper frame.
