To enhance the reliability of melting point measurement of MOX fuel by suppressing a reaction between the MOX fuel and container components to reduce the instability of a thermal curve in temperature rise stagnancy, and further, to perform melting point measurement even if the amount of specimen is small.
This specimen container is used for measuring melting points by using a thermal arrest method with a MOX fuel serving as a specimen 12 sealed therein. This specimen container for melting point measurement on MOX fuel has a double structure consisting of an outer container 10 of hermetic structure with its whole body made of tungsten and a lidded inner container 14 made of rhenium inserted into the interior of the outer container for storing the specimen therein. The specimen is a cap-shaped MOX fuel molded into a shape having a recess part 40 in the middle of the bottom part of a cylindrical body. The specimen and the inner container are vacuum-sealed in the outer container to constitute a melting point measurement specimen 50 on the MOX fuel.
