PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of coil-handling work by using a turning machine and a carrier provided with a pair of square U-shaped underframes, which extend outwardly from the lower end of the carrier, so as to make it possible to turn under stable and danger-free conditions a heavy coiled material wound on the carrier.
CONSTITUTION: A turning machine A is constructed of a car truck 3 having casters 2 adapted to permit the truck 3 to run along guide rails 1 and lift 5 capable of moving up-and-down along a rear frame 4. On the other hand, a carrier B which is used to wind up a coil material C is formed by providing in a protruding fashion a pair of square U-shaped underframes at the lower extremities of a pair of corresponding inverted U-shaped raising arches 9, a coupling bar 1 and a pair of arcuate reinforcement underframes 12. Furthermore, is also provided a feeder stand D from which an arm 15 extends sideward. By using these devices AWD in combination, the coiled material C wound up on the carrier B can be turned with ease and safe, thus making the handling work of the coiled material C easier.
