Title:
MACHINING JIG
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2006305705
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a machining jig which carries out heavy machining, i.e. boring or threading in an end face of a metal rod, with good accuracy.

The machining jig is provided with: a rail 2 which is fixed onto a base 1; a pair of portal V-shaped blocks 3 which each have a notched portion formed therein, for sliding on the rail 2, and have a mechanism for gripping a workpiece 44; and clamping bolts 18 for fixing the respective portal V-shaped blocks 3 to the rail 2. The rail 2 has an chevron-shaped upper surface, and each side surface consisting of an almost vertical plane on a lower portion and an externally inclined plane extending from the same. Each mechanism for gripping the workpiece 44 grips the workpiece 44 at a portion above the notched portion. The notched portion slides on the upper surface and the inclined plane of the rail 2. Each clamping bolt 18 is screwed into a screw hole formed in the portal V-shaped block 3, to abut on the inclined plane of the rail 2, to thereby fix the portal V-shaped block 3 to the rail.
