Abstract:

A method is described for interference control among a first small cell base station (104 1 ) and a second small cell base station (104 2 ) in a wireless communication system comprising a plurality of small cell base stations (104 1 - 104 2 ) controlled by a macro base station (100). The method comprises, in response to a request (402) from the macro base station (100) to the first small cell base station (104 1 ), performing, by the first small cell base station (104 1 ), a beacon transmission on one or more resources, in response to a request (404) from the macro base station (100) to the second small cell base station (104 2 ), performing, by the second small cell base station (104 2 ), a channel quality measurement on the one or more resources, and reporting (406) the measured channel quality from the second small cell base station (1042 ) to the macro base station (100).
