Title:
MAGNET BELT DRIVEN TYPE TRACK TRAVELING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10152046
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a magnet belt driven type track traveling device which can travel on a railway whose slope is steep safely at a relatively high speed without requiring large-scale facilities and with easy installation.

A magnetic attracting rail 2 is laid between rails 1, 1. In a carriage 3, a magnet belt 4 for driving is attracted at both side surfaces of the attracting rail 2 to travel on the rails 1 with wheels 5. An oscillating base 12 is supported on a frame 6 by suspension links 13, 14, onto which driving/ driven drums 16, 17 and a motor 18 are fitted. The magnet belt 4 is engaged between the drums 16, 17. By oscillation of the base 12, the magnet belt 4 is magnetically-attracted to the attracting rail 2 well all the time to obtain stable large driving force and braking force. The attraction of the magnet belt 4 prevents derailment, thus it is possible to travel safely at a relatively high speed even on a track whose slope is steep. The magnet belt 4 conducts a braking action at the time of descending. It is possible to construct a private track by laying the attracting rail 2 on a conventional railway.
