PURPOSE: To obtain the magnetic alloy having remarkable magnetic characteristics under heat histeresis by substituting a part of Fe in an equimolar compound phase shown by the form of Pt-Fe-Sn by Mn and regulating the above as a main phase.
CONSTITUTION: The magnetic alloy is constituted of an equimolar compound phase shown by Pt(Fe1-xMnx)Sn (where 0<x<1, preferably about 0.01≤x≤ about 0.99 is regulated) as a main phase and has magnetization heat histeresis characteristics. The magnetic alloy shows different magnetization in the same temp. in accordance with heat histeresis and is therefore usable, e.g. as a record ing medium. Furthermore, the above alloy holds the magnetization each different in accordance with the change of heating temp. on the way of the transition area in heat histeresis and is therefore applicable, e.g. as a temp. sensors.
