To provide a magnetic burnishing method and device thereof for extremely reducing energy loss by miniaturizing a working device and controlling a tool behavior and working the surfaces of functional precision parts with high accuracy and high efficiency.
A magnetic tool 5 is allowed to abut on the surface of a workpiece 4 by relative motion with the workpiece 4 of a non-magnetic body or a magnetic body generated by driving the magnetic tool 5 with magnetic force within a magnetic field, and the surface of the workpiece 4 is finished and hardened. The magnetic tool 5 is allowed to abut on the surface of the workpiece 4 in the form of the tool 5 controlled by magnetic field fluctuation, the surface of the workpiece 4 is efficiently smoothed by sliding and rolling motion, fatigue strength is improved by work hardening the workpiece 4. By miniaturizing the device and controlling the tool behavior, energy loss is extremely reduced, a proper machining condition including a material, shape and dimension of the magnetic tool 5 is selected and a complicated precision parts and detailed machining are made possible.
