Abstract:
To provide a magnetic disk device and a read-retry processing method with which it is possible to improve the performance of a read process.SOLUTION: A magnetic disk device pertaining to the present embodiment comprises: a disk having a first disk and a second disk; a first head for writing data to the first disk and reading data from the first disk; a second head for writing data to the second disk and reading data from the second disk; a first actuator having the first head; a second actuator having the second head; a first controller for controlling the first head and the first actuator; and a second controller for controlling the second head and the second actuator. The first controller transfers first data to which a read error occurs to the second controller, and the second controller executes a read-retry process on the first data transferred from the first controller.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
