Title:
MAGNETIC DISK AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01169720
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the durability of a magnetic disk by constituting a cured underlying film of a ternary alloy film of nickel, copper and phosphorus which is heat treated to the hardness of a prescribed value or above. CONSTITUTION:Electroless Ni-Cu-P plating is formed to 10-15mum via the cured underlying film 2 on an aluminum substrate 1. The substrate is then heat treated in a nonoxidizing atmosphere at >=400 deg.C and the surface is lapped until the desired surface accuracy is obtd. A magnetic medium 3 is formed on the surface in the final. The change in the hardness by the heat treatment of the electroless Ni-Cu-P plating film (50% content of Ni) is capable of yielding >=800 hardness Hv by the heat treatment at <=400 deg.C. On the other hand, the residual magnetic flux density is <=1 gauss in spite of the heat treatment at >=400 deg.C. This plating film is thus convenient as the medium subsurface.
