Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of a magnetic disk unit.
SOLUTION: The magnetic disk unit is so constituted as to be separated or separable to an HDA(head disk assembly) and a package so that the HDA is replaceable. However, since the sealability of the HDA remains as it is, a magnetic medium is not exposed with the atmosphere. Thus, when one package is purchased, only the HDA can be purchased with a low cost while holding the reliability of the apparatus. Since the medium is not exposed with the atmosphere, the reliability of the medium is high.
