Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make the unit strong against servo vibration and position a magnetic head accurately by piling up balls interposed between inner rings or outer rings and providing a bearing assembly consisting of plural ball bearings fixed in the state spring energized in axial direction by the balls. CONSTITUTION:An upper side bearing assembly 13 is provided with two piled up ball bearings 15, 16. Outer rings 15a, of ball bearings 15, 16 are in contact with a cylindrical housing 17 and inner rings 15b, 16b are in contact with a sleeve 18 fitted to a shaft 7 slidably in axial direction. On the other hand, a lower bearing assembly 14 has two piled up ball bearings 24, 25. Outer rings 24a, 25a of ball bearings 24, 25 are in contact with a cylindrical housing 26, and inner rings 24b, 25b are in contact with a sleeve 27 fitted slidably to the shaft 7. As inner and outer rings of bearing assembles are stuck fast to the balls pressing them by equal force, each ball bearing receives bearing load equally. Thereby, characteristic frequency of the rotating part becomes high, and becomes strong against servo vibration, and a magnetic head is positioned accurately.
