Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the detecting accuracy by arranging a magnetic resistance effect element portion and a magnetic pole array in a confronting manner so that a magnetic field lower than an anisotropic magnetic field is applied in accordance with the anisotropic magnetic field of a ferromagnetic thin film pattern. CONSTITUTION:Magnetoresistors 32, 33 of a magnetic sensor 3 are arranged confronting to magnetizing magnetic pole arrays 12, 13 of a magnetic drum 1 via gaps g2, g3 respectively. For example, g2 and g3 are set to be 130mum and 665mum respectively. Therefore, in the case where the magnetoresistors 31-33 are provided on the same plane, the radius of the magnetic pole array 13 of a V signal is made at 535mum which is smaller than the magnetic pole array 12 of a P signal on the rotary drum 1. A magnetizing part 11 of a Z phase is formed with the same diameter as the magnetic pole array 12. In this structure, approximately the same level of an output voltage, 50mV and moreover approximately the same shape of a signal waveform can be obtained for the elements 31-33.
