Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent assuredly a fault such as the breakdown of a magnetic head driver owing to the runaway of a motor, by limiting the maximum current supplied to a motor under the working of an access mechanism and during a fast seaking action and therefore limiting the maximum shift speed of a carriage. CONSTITUTION:A microprocessor 4, for example, is used to decide the end of a fast seaking action which sets a head at the initial position of a cylinder. Based on the result of this decision, an analog switch 21 is turned on by the control signal given from the processor before the fast seaking action is over. Thus the driving current of a motor 2 is limited 22 to a prescribed level with ON of the switch 21. This prevents the runaway of the motor 2.
