PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject powder high in fluidity and resolution and excellent in blackness as magnetic toner particles of small size.
SOLUTION: The objective magnetic iron oxide particle powder as magnetic toner consists of magnetite particles having the following characteristics: average particle diameter: 0.05-0.30μm; containing 1.7-4.5atom%, based on Fe, of silicon; satisfying the relationship: 147-322.7×(d)≤Hc≤207-322.7×(d) (Hc is coercive force in an external magnetic field intensity of 10kOe; (d) is an average particle diameter); and sulfur content: ≤0.35wt.%.
