To provide a magnetic polishing apparatus which removes burrs of workpieces of all modes, carries out an efficient polishing operation, and reduces mechanical noises.
The magnetic polishing apparatus comprises a nonmagnetic container 10 for containing magnetic strips serving as polishing strips together with workpieces. The workpieces are polished by magnetically agitating the magnetic strips by changing the magnetic field inside the container 10. The magnetic polishing apparatus comprises: first opposed magnetic poles 13, 14 arranged outside the container 10; a field coil 15 for magnetizing the first opposed magnetic poles and an electric power source 16 for making the field coil generate an alternating magnetic field; second opposed magnetic poles 23, 24 for forming the magnetic flux perpendicular to the direction of the magnetic flux to be formed by the first opposed magnetic poles arranged outside the container 10; and a field coil 25 for magnetizing the second opposed magnetic poles and an electric power source 26 for making the field coil generate an alternating magnetic field.
