Title:
MAGNETIC POLISHING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61257758
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To polish the entire face of short and complex part uniformly with high accuracy by facing the pole faces of a pair of magnetic poles through uniform gap against the coarse machining face of work and arranging a pair of magnetic poles while shifting in longitudinal direction of the drum face of work or in lateral direction of the upper face.

CONSTITUTION: A pair of magnetic poles 3, 7 (or 10, 11) are faced through uniform gaps 4, 5 (or 12, 13) against the machining face of work 1. The magnetic poles 3, 7 are arranged while shifting in longitudinal direction of the drum face of work 1 (or in lateral direction of the upper face of work 1, in case of the magnetic poles 10, 11). Consequently, the drum face or the upper and lower faces of work 1 are covered entirely by magnetic abrasive grains to prevent dispersion of the magnetic abrasive grains thrown into the gaps 4, 5 (or 12, 13) upon rotation of work 1. While since the magnetic abrasive grains will adhere and move against the surface of work repeatedly to provide a new edge, the entire face can be polished uniformly with high accuracy.
