Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a magnetic recording medium using a magnetic film of a Co-Sm alloy, ensuring high coercive force and less secular change.
CONSTITUTION: A primary coat film layer, a magnetic film layer of a Co-Sm alloy having 18-32at.% Sm content and protective film layer of Cr, Zr, Ti, Mo, V, W, C or SiO2 having 30-500 thickness are successively formed on a nonmagnetic substrate to obtain the objective magnetic recording medium.
