Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a magnetic coating composition suppressing the generation of drop-out in a magnetic recording medium such as video.
CONSTITUTION: A ferromagnetic powder is treated with an imidazole derivative and the product is used as a reaction catalyst for a binder. Also when a vinylchloride copolymer having an epoxy group in a molecule is used, scraping or scratching of a magnetic layer is not occurred and the generation of drop-out accomopanying to the travel motion is effectively suppressed since the medium is excellent in hardeness.
